Vacation week was a tease. Now that we're back in class .. its starting to fly by.

Deadline. Finals. Studio project.

I've been reflecting on the past semester and what we've discussed in Art & Technology.

The return to the garden.. pretty much our studio project now. The site is the Arnold Arboretum, a get away from the city. Man returning to nature? Funny attempting design at a pool facility in the middle of a natural setting. I guess it's a median. City meets building meets water meets nature. 

I hope it goes well.

second life....

Well, after a whole weekend of attempting to create a second life account.. i finally succeeded.. but had to use a friend's computer to do it. I really like this program. It's fun. It reminds me of the Sims. I used to be addicted to the Sims. I hope I don't get addicted to second life, because with school there's no time. Plus, I'm not one to sit on a computer a lot. But it is fun. Wierd, but fun. Wierd because I know people spend their lives on this thing. I liked exploring the different communities, and walking around knowing that the other avatars were being controlled by real life people. Probably wierdos.

I'm going to see one of my favorite musicians perform Thursday night with the Boston Pops.. Amanda Palmer from the Dresden Dolls. I recommend her music. Her lyrics are genious..

The Kill

A lot of things have been on my mind and sorry to have been neglecting the blog. The studio project is over, and I have a night off from work... so..

I was walking past a hostel after work one night near fenway. There were some kids outside that were my age and a friend I was with asked where they were from. They said Ireland. I said I was Irish too, and they gave me a weird look. I explained to them that my family was from Ireland. It's funny how this country is made up of a bunch of mixed nationalities.. yet we're all American. The Irish kids were Irish and native to Ireland.. I'm not native to Ireland but still Irish.. does that make me nottt really too Irish? just a thought.

Sitting in studio, listening to music.. attempting to design.. thinking about the past week. It flew by. The art gallery was very, very interesting. It was different that any art museum. Mainly, because it was connected to a train station. It was a new way for me to look at art. Before the visit, I could not have imagined an engineer or computer person creating art. This goes to show that art can be anything. 

Technology can be artistic? apparently. It's how you use it.
